Studies have shown that only one to five percent of people who smoke marijuana develop psychosis. And of those who do, weed has never pinpointed as the culprit. Analyzing data related to cannabis use and its influence on the development of psychosis is difficult because of a single primary factor — mental health disorders as well as the marijuana use most commonly begin during the teen years. Because they start at the same time, it’s becomes almost impossible to see which variable is influencing the other.
