In 2007, it was confirmed that Neil Patrick Harris was dating David Burtka, with Harris later confessing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he had been with his partner since 2004. In 2010, the couple welcomed twins, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace via a surrogate and, after the Marriage Equality Act was passed, Neil Patrick Harris married Burtka. The couple tied the knot in Italy with Pamela Fryman, the longtime director of How I Met Your Mother, officiating the wedding and Elton John performing at the ceremony.
