Tyrion, despite his questionable choices always had his soul in the honest place. Despite Dany telling him a few scenes earlier that he was one more mistake away from death, he decides to betray her and help Jamie escape. He tells Jaime that the life of one dwarf is a good trade to save everyone in King’s Landing Always the survivor, Tyrion returns helps Jamie the way he helped him when Tywin Lannister decides to execute his dwarf son.
