1. Silverfish and Paper Lice
Those little silver creatures darting across your bathroom floor at night? Almost everyone’s seen them. Silverfish love moisture and feed on sugar, starch, skin flakes, and even mold. If you’re seeing a lot of them, it’s a warning sign – there’s often a moisture problem behind it. Paper lice (booklice) are their dry-loving relatives: they live in normal rooms and munch on paper, books, and cardboard. Neither is a health risk, but they’re annoying.
How to get rid of them: Air out your rooms regularly to reduce humidity. Store food in sealed containers. For paper lice: keep old paper and books in closed boxes and seal cracks in floors and walls. For heavy infestations, sticky traps work well.
